About The Mennonite Trust

'Rooted in the Anabaptist tradition, cultivating Christian discipleship as a way of life.'

Our Work Today

The Mennonite Trust is: ‘Rooted in the Anabaptist tradition, cultivating Christian discipleship as a way of life’ The trust seeks to serve the wider Christian community by:

  • promoting the understanding and practice of Mennonite and other Anabaptist life;
  • embodying of Mennonite and other Anabaptist values and spirituality through hospitality, friendship, worship and educational and peacemaking activities;
  • equipping individuals and organisations to understand and enact Anabaptist and Mennonite values through the provision of a resource library;
  • promoting the wellbeing of individuals and communities by providing support and resources to churches, groups or other organisations carrying out charitable activities and seeking to exemplify Mennonite and other Anabaptist approaches to discipleship.

Formerly based in one location in London, the ministry of the trust now seeks to facilitate learning and discipleship opportunities across the UK in partnership with the Anabaptist Network and other like-minded agencies. For a history of the Mennonite ministry in the UK and the London Mennonite Centre, which was established in 1953 see Alan Kreider’s 50th anniversary essay.
